Ethocel series | ETHOCEL™ ethylcellulose polymers are organosoluble products with a narrow specification and uniform ethoxyl functionality. This enables ETHOCEL™ to have very predictable performance, key to industrial applications where the same output is desired batch to batch. ETHOCEL™ polymers are water-insoluble thermoplastic polymers; they can therefore be employed for a wide variety of functions. They are used for rheology modification, film formation, binding, water barriers, and as time-release agents. ETHOCEL™ can also be effectively used as a sacrificial binder as they exhibit clean burn out. |
Methocel series | METHOCEL™ cellulose ethers include methylcellulose (MC) or hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) polymers with solubilities ranging from water-soluble to organosoluble. METHOCEL ™ is an excellent rheology modifier, binder, film former, and water-retention agent. In addition, it has a few stand-out qualities. METHOCEL™ does not need hot water to dissolve; it is highly soluble in cold water. Therefore, energy can be conserved in dissolving the product. Another stand-out quality of METHOCEL™ is that once it is gelled by heat, it is able to revert back to liquid form when cooling. Many other thickeners do not have that flexibility. |
Polyox series | POLYOX™ Water-Soluble resins are high molecular weight water soluble polymers. A long chain poly(ethylene oxide), POLYOX™ is available in a wide range of molecular weights making it an excellent choice for a formulator trying to tailor a specific end viscosity. As a result of its wide ranging compatibility, it is readily used in a variety of applications. It imparts lubricity, binding, water retention, thickening and film formulation. POLYOX™ differentiates itself from other water soluble thickeners by the high wet tack it imparts, its ability to be used in thermoplastics, and the silky feel it can create in end products. |
Walocel series | As highly purified polymers that can be dissolved at any temperature, WALOCEL™ CRT polymers provide ultra-clear solutions, and achieve consistent high quality results. They are sodium carboxymethylcellulose (NaCMC) polymers widely used as water-soluble binders and viscosity modifiers. WALOCEL™ CRT polymers are utilized in a broad range of industrial and consumer facing applications. WALOCEL™ CRT products differentiate themselves from standard CMC grades by having high purity with low salt content levels (below 0.5%). |
